FAQs
- Cancellation policies: Cancellation policies will vary both by housing company and individual hotels. A housing company may have an earlier cancellation / change policy than the hotel. Please pay attention to all of the details.
- Dates of play: Pay attention to dates of play and books your reservation accordingly. When in doubt, reach out to Brenda or check the tournament website directly.
- Stay-to-play: When a tournament is stay-to-play our club is responsible to book a % of rooms at the offered hotels. We must meet the stay-to-play requirements in order to participate in the tournament. We ask that all families adhere to these rules.
- “Local” tournaments: The tournaments in NJ are approx. 2 hours from northern NJ making them commutable; however, your team might be scheduled for a game as early as 7:30am. Tournament schedules can be released anywhere from 1 month to 2 weeks prior to the tournament dates.
- Communication: When booking with tournament companies, you should contact them directly with any questions regarding your reservations before contacting the hotels. Room blocks are often not released to individual hotels until a week or two prior to the event; therefore, the hotel will not have a record of your reservation until that time.
- Changes: Tournaments have been known to change locations and dates of play. I will communicate these to you directly, should the situation arise.
- Better to be safe than sorry: Many people will wait until closer to the tournament date to look for a hotel room. My suggestion is to book early and cancel if needed. Cancellation policies are usually one month to a few days prior to the reservation date.
