As one of the tournament directors of Lax by the Sea, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about the NEW date of our summer lax tournament, so that hopefully we can encourage your presence to a fantastic recruiting opportunity this summer. This year we are hosting the Lax by the Sea tournament June 17th and 18th at New Egypt High School in located in central NJ. Only 30 minutes from the beaches and 40 minutes from Phila. In the summer of 2004, Marguerite Dempsey (Columbia HS) Jess Grom Shoulberg (Mendham), Charlie Shoulberg (STEPS Lacrosse) and I, Jill Cosse (West Essex) started Lax by the Sea, a tournament that would showcase some of the best athletic and lacrosse talent offered in the New Jersey, Philadelphia and the New York area. We went after the best high school programs in our state as well as clubs that won some of the other well known tournaments. The result was amazing – we had kids battling against and with each other that would go on to make an impact right away at the Division I, Division II and III programs all over the country! Lax by the Sea was such a huge success in our first year that by year two we grew to 40 teams of great lacrosse talent! We pride ourselves on running a truly classy tournament where you as coaches get the opportunity to see full field size games, each with 25 minute running halves, thus mimicking the precedent that is set at the National Tournament each year. We have 3 divisions for the tournament; varsity, underclassmen and middle school. Our tournament site also has excellent onsite facilities such as ample parking, restrooms, vendors, and refreshments available. This year again we are hosting the Lax by the Sea Tournament at New Egypt High School, in New Egypt, New Jersey. This location can be easily reached by the Garden State Parkway, The New Jersey Turnpike and I95. It also gives you a chance as college coaches to relax a bit and perhaps visit the Jersey shore which is just 30 minutes away! We hope you’ll join us this year and check out some of the fantastic players and coaches we have attending this years tournament!
